The northbound PLUS highway cuts straight through Perak — Slim River and Bidor, up past Tapah and Gopeng, on to Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar and Taiping — and it is the Tapah–Bidor stretch where vehicles most often get stranded far from the nearest town or workshop. Our units know this corridor by heart: the back lanes of Ipoh, the old Gopeng–Kampar road, right down to the coastal run into Sitiawan and Lumut.
